Bellarmine-Jefferson High School Accepts International Students

Annual tuition for International Students at Bellarmine-Jefferson High School is $17,000. Please see our tuition contract below for more information.

Bellarmine-Jefferson High School does not offer ESL (English as a Second Language) support. Students must  have strong English language skills and be able to participate in lectures, reading and writing in English

Bellarmine-Jefferson High School does not have boarding facilities and will not participate or advise in finding a guardian for students.

I-20 (F-1) Visas are facilitated through our superiors, the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

The process for becoming an international student is as follows:

Step 1: Application and Acceptance at Bellarmine-Jefferson High School

1. Application and fee of $75
2. Submission of transcripts and recommendations from the student’s current school. (These must be translated into English.)
3. An interview in person or via SKYPE.
4. A placement exam may be required in some cases.

Once a student has been accepted at Bellarmine-Jefferson High School, the I-20 process can begin.

Step 2: Submission the following documents to the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles

New I-20

1. Application for Form I-20
• All fields must be filled out, signed and dated by the Bellarmine-Jefferson High School Principal or other school administrator. Incomplete application forms will be returned.
2. Application Form I-20 Cover Sheet
• All fields must be filled out and include all items below.
• Please indicate how the completed Form I-20 will be picked up or shipped at the bottom of the sheet.
3. Copy of the student’s passport
• Their passport should be valid for at least six months after the date they are scheduled to arrive in the United States.
4. Copy of the student’s most recent transcripts translated into English
5. Proof of financial responsibility
• Documentation should only be provided for the person who is paying the student’s tuition.
• Please provide a copy of the most recent bank statement or a bank certified letter stating the account balance. Do not submit tax documents.
6. Money order or cashier’s check made payable to Department of Catholic Schools
• There is a $750 application fee for new students.
• We do not accept cash, personal checks, credit/debit cards or electronic payments.

Transfer of I-20

1. Items 1-5 above.
2. The student must notify the school that issued the I-20, to transfer his/her “ACTIVE” SEVIS Number to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on the Homeland Security Website. 
3. A copy of the Student’s I-20 issued by former school.
4. A money order or cashier's check for $300 made payable to Department of Catholic Schools.
• We do not accept cash, personal checks, credit/debit cards or electronic payments.
5. Student may not begin school until the Transfer and Documents are received. 

I-20 Documents can be returned to student outside the United States for a fee $125.00. (Please include this fee with Application fee).  There is no additional fee for documents mailed to an address within the United Sates.
